What to look for in golf hotels in Bath
Properties with a golf course on site or immediately alongside. Some are resorts built around the course with their own pro shop and buggies; others are hotels that happen to sit beside a club and have an arrangement for guests. That arrangement, and what it costs, is the thing to establish before you book.
Before you book, check
- Whether green fees are included, discounted or full price for hotel guests.
- Whether tee times can be reserved in advance and how far ahead.
- Whether clubs and buggies can be hired on site, which saves flying with a bag.
- Whether there is a handicap requirement, which some clubs still apply.
A hotel can list golf because a course is nearby rather than attached. Check the actual distance and whether guest access is guaranteed, particularly at private clubs in high season.
Worth it for: Golf trips, obviously, but also mixed groups: these properties usually have a pool and a restaurant that keep non-players occupied.
